Rhino export to .obj results in huge file size with too many polygons

Hi, I’m exporting a file from Rhino to a .obj to give to someone else to animate for me. I’m getting 2 complaints: 1) the file size is too huge (200 MB Rhino file turns into a 4 GB .obj file), and
2) There are too many polygons. When I export, I choose the option for the smallest number of polygons possible, but that doesn’t help.

What settings should I be looking at? Is there any such thing as an average number of polygons in a file?
Thanks.

Hello - obj files will generally be larger on disk than a corresponding Rhino file since obj is a text format, not very efficient. Here is some info on using the mesher in Rhino -
