Rhino 8 Step Translator Text not correct

Hi
does anyone came across this ?
There is no setting to correct this at import , as breaking the text in lines , or something .

The text is just some random lines

should be this 1 1/12"

All my other CAD systems read this correct .
The file comes from Cimatron as 214 Step FILE_DESCRIPTION((‘STEP AP214’),‘1’);

This will be pretty much impossible for the developers to diagnose and cure without the culprit STEP file or a stripped down example that displays the issue.

Here is a Step file uploaded

12800-COR-EYEBOLTS-ENG-P20-23SEP24-YBA.stp (395.7 KB)

Should be 1"

Hi Al -

Yes. I’ve added this thread to RH-60777 Import STEP 242 annotation and symbols files
-wim

This looks to be a curve issue, not a “STEP 242 annotation and symbols” issue like RH-60777. Specifically, the STEP file contains composite_curve and composite_curve_segment entities that may not be properly supported by Rhino’s STEP importer.
