Rhino 8 Mac Print Command Freezes

Rhino 8 printing to PDF had been working fine until today. Now it freezes every time I enter the Print command. After reading through an older post I also tried to Export a simple shape to PDF and it also froze.

Software is up to date and Updates are set to ‘Service Release Candidate’.

Hi Benjamin -

Do you know what changed on your system between then and now?
What happens when you disable the Enscape plug-in in the plug-in manager and restart Rhino?
When Rhino freezes, you can create a manual dump file and send that over so that we might be able to see where this is hanging. You find instructions for doing so here: Manually Creating a Memory Dump (DMP File) from an Unresponsive Rhino for Mac [McNeel Wiki]

Nothing that I know of changed on my end between it working and not working. I tried disabling Enscape plug in, restarting, and the problem still persists. I just sent the Memory Dump file in the upload system. Thanks

Hi @Benjamin_Halpern,
We tested printing on the Rhino 8 Mac and we can print with no issues.
It would be helpful to get a file that you can not print. You can email it to tech@mcneel.com and reference this Forum thread.

We have the spindmp but the developers have seen anything there that tell them why you are crashing. But they do know you are printing.

You said that you did disable the Enscape plugin. You may want to completely uninstall/remove it from your computer until your crash goes away.

  1. Next try the Reset command and return Rhino to factory defaults.
  2. Test with a new file. Can you print a new file? Are you printing a Layout.
  3. Send images of your Print dialog settings
  4. And get us a 3DM file. (tech@mcneel.com)
