Rhino 7 (not responding) then file crashing

Hi,

I’ve tried to open my (rhino 7) file several times but the file says (not responding) and will crash soon after I open it…

Your help would be appreciated

Hi Charlotte - please open a new session of Rhino and run the SystemInfo command, and copy/paste the results here.

I have tried to uninstall rhino but this dialogue box keeps coming up

Hi @charlotte.rm.murch,

You’re many service releases behind. Any reason you don’t upgrade your Rhino 7?

Hi Dale,

I’ve upgraded in the past and it has caused issues with my files, certain display modes not working etc. Do you recommend I go ahead and upgrade?

  • Charlotte

Hi Charlotte - while you are at it, I would also get the newest GPU drivers from the NVidia and Intel websites - your drivers are quite outdated.

Vendor Name: NVIDIA Corporation
Render version: 4.6
Shading Language: 4.60 NVIDIA
Driver Date: 7-12-2021

Intel(R) UHD Graphics (Intel) Memory: 1GB, Driver date: 5-19-2020

Yep.

I am trying to install the latest and this keeps coming up

Hi @charlotte.rm.murch,

Are you logged in as the administrator or as a user with administrative privileges? This might be a user rights issue.

If you have not rebooted your system lately, do so.

Also, look to see what 3rd party security and/or antivirus software and disable them until you install successfully.

It’s also a good time to make sure all of your Windows Updates are up-to-date.

– Dale

Hi Pasal and Dale,

I should be logged in as an administrator, I’ve bought and own a license, if that makes a difference?

I have rebooted my system to no avail, and updated both NVidia and Intel GPU drivers

Hi @charlotte.rm.murch,

Do you have someone who maintains your system? If so, you might want to reach out to them.

– Dale

This can be caused by programs like CCleaner or a user manually deleting files that shouldn’t be deleted.
