Rhino 7__How to fix intersecting mesh faces

Hi all,
I used Rhino 7 to generate a model for an underground mine. When I mesh the model, I found that it has 13 pairs of mesh faces that intersect each other. This mesh issue prevents me from exporting a valid mesh to a finite difference software to conduct a stress analysis.
Does anyone have any solutions to fix the mesh issue that I am having?

Hi -

I’d recommend fixing the original model before meshing it.

Well that doesn’t really answer the question, does it ? I remember there was some kind of experimental command that allowed AT LEAST to spot the intersecting faces.

Can’t remember what crazy name it had though…

Wouldn’t it make kind of sense to integrate this in the otherwise lamentable MeshRepair tool ?

By the way, you can see how much rigor was put in the command naming scheme when you discover there is a “RepairSubD” tool…

It looks like this model has 630 self intersecting faces. What information was this originally models from?

Can you include the original surfaces?

That may provide better feedback.
