I am using an installation of Rhino 7 on someone else’s computer and the Rhino Render settings are completely off. Everything looks terrible, there is no ground plane, no shadow, no sun.
I have used the ‘Reset to default’ in the Rhino Render panel, but it has no effect unfortunately.
Is there any way to do a ‘deep’ reset to defaults (for the whole Rhino 7) install to remedy this?
Hi Mathias - Does rendered display mode look correct? Note the GP and sun are file specific - if you had these on in your templates and are used to them being on, you may not be starting with the same templates on this other installation.
Does the problem occur with a brand new file and say a single box added?
Hi Mathias - So these are both raytraced viewports or full renders, correct?
You can try re-installing, but I am curious about what is going on - can you please try blocking the plug-ins that are listed as not installed with Rhino (Options > Plug-ins page), close and re-open Rhino?
I tried a Rhino 7 ‘Repair’ install but could not resolve the problem.
In the below screenshot is an example of a ‘Physically Based’ material. The screen shot shows the default settings, which should be a white matte material, but it looks like the screenshot below.
Are these issues related to the Cycles render engine specifically?
Do I need to do a full de-install and re-install to address this?
How about my Grasshopper installation? Its quite extensive…
