Rendering differences between Cycles and ProRender

When rendering a simple scene with Cycles and ProRender, the differences seem to be pretty large, as can be seen in the image below:

I did not change any parameters, same environment, same gamma value etc.
Is there an inherent reason, why proRender looks so much different? Is there a setting, that I have to tweak in order to get similar results, or is this just a natural byproduct of using different render engines?

since it is a different render engine, this is to be expected. every render engine has its own way of calculating the image and they might have very different approaches of doing so. you could say that they have their own way of interpreting.
