Remove mitre corner on surface best method?

Hi,
V5
remove mitre edge

I have needed to remove a mitred (chamfer) edge on an object and do a lot moving of surfaces and use of MoveEdge (very nice tool for simple work) .
I come to this surface with a mitred corner now needing the mitred corner removed to be just 90deg and A ends up at B.

Move edge moves an entire edge.

what command to move A to B ?

or do I create a dupEdge, edit it and planar surface it ?

Imagine however it it wasnt planar elsewhere and I had long lost the profiles, to just do that corner would be easier !

REMOVE mitre edge.3dm (156.4 KB)

Easiest way is to sub-select edge A and move it from point A to point B by dragging. Then you can make a triangular planar surface (various ways) and join it to fill the hole, then MergeAllFaces on the joined object.

Hi,
I google sub select and rhino and it says ctrl shift click, so I do that and get a yellow edge, turn control points on and nothing happens, try again and choose move tool and the entire edge moves and not A and only A to B.

what is the method ?

Yes.

No. Just drag the selected edge where you want it using object snaps, or use Move.

Hi,
, but then the long surface edge also moves and it shouldnt, its ok where it is.

Hi,
V5
Should it be that you film it happening, so I see what to do ?

I used to use Snagit, v good, means money nowadays.

However I see no need to film it at my end, as selecting that edge and using move ends up as in still image.
I need the end of it at ‘A’ to move and the rest to not move, so need control points, and surfaces dont display control points whilst curves and lines do.

I have drawn a triangle there, used Planar surface tool, then joined the surfaces and then mergeFace.

Techsmith Capture is free and what I used.

You only want to move the point A, not the whole edge as I did in the video?

Don’t move A.
Select the top surface. Use untrim with keep trim objects = Yes to untrim on the diagonal edge.
Select the trim curve and split it at both ends of the diagonal. Delete the diagonal.
Turn on points for the curve. Select the point that was the apex of the triangle and move it to B.
Turn points off and use _CloseCrv to close the curve. Select the curve and use it to trim the surface.
