Has anyone experienced this?
Sometimes in Rhino 8, when attempting to change the order of layouts in the Layouts tab by dragging one or more selected layouts, it stops working and instead starts making a box selection. The only way to fix it is to restart Rhino or re-open a file.
However, I wasn’t able to find a consistent way to reproduce it. I was playing with it for the last half an hour and sometimes it happens after I double click a layout, sometimes if I try to rename it from the Layouts tab but other times it keeps working no matter what I try.
It’s more of a papercut than a serious bug but when you’re working on a large file with 50+ layouts and you want to move a new layout from the last position somewhere in between, clicking 40 times on the “Move up” button is rather inconvenient.
Yes, there’s also the old way of right-clicking the layout name below the 3D viewport (if you don’t use Combined Layout Tab), then selecting Move or Copy… and do it from there but that’s not very convenient either and it doesn’t work for multiple layouts.
What dragging looks like when it’s working:
(Note that Přesunout means Move, apparently that hint text is native from Windows)
What dragging looks like after the bug gets triggered:
(Note that I have no idea how to make box selection normally, no combination of Ctrl, Shift or Alt makes it happen, not that I need it that much, just wondering if the box selection is intentional or not - perhaps there are two functions asigned to dragging which are fighting each other?)
I’m using Rhino 8.5.24065.13001, 2024-03-05 on Windows 11 Pro 23H2
But it’s been happening in older R8 versions too.
