Project Curve to Irregular Surface

I am trying to project 2d curves to an irregular surface and I am not able to do it through the Project to Surface command. See image attached. Help please. Thank you.

Hello - try this -

Extrude the base line below the white curve to the same height as the surface.
Start FlowAlongSrf
Select the curves as the objects to flow, the vertical plane as the base surface and the complicated surface as the target.
