Possible to update copied script component by editing the original

The title pretty much says it, but to expand a bit. I am working on a grasshopper definition that has several different script components. It’s an idea that I would like to turn into a plugin at some point, and I am using Grasshopper to test and refine the concepts.

Fairly often, I am reusing one of my script components to do some task, but if I make a change to the component, then I have to go around and replace all of the other instances of the component. I wondered if there is a way to sync the script component copies with the original.

I am learning Grasshopper, so let me know if I am overlooking another more acceptable way to accomplish this.

I think the Script component can be synchronized by putting it in Cluster and modifying it.
