Parametric Furniture Design with Grasshopper and Rhino is an intense course combining algorithmic methods for 3D modeling with digital fabrication of furniture. The purpose is to produce furniture using parametric design with geometries that allow materialization.
The course will go through the processes of constructing a shape algorithm, customization, 3D printing and fabrication. Parametric modeling tools in Rhinoceros and Grasshopper will be introduced, so participants can create and visualize unique custom designs. For this purpose, 3D printers will be available on the site for all experimental needs. Participants will have the opportunity to get their designs manufactured and learn about all aspects of the fabrication process. In the end, participants will have their prototypes 3D printed.

- 3D printing prototypes
- Visualization with KeyShot
Bring your computer with Rhino 5, Grasshopper and KeyShot installed. (Trial versions can be found on each software company’s website.) DesignMorphine will send participants links to the required software, trials, and plug-ins to download. Please have the software installed before the start of the workshop. If you have issues installing software, DesignMorphine may be able to help you during the workshop.
No previous software experience required.
There will be 3D printers on site for fabrication.
All participants who complete the intensive course will receive a certificate of completion.
