Notilus Dude puts a jointed human figure into your Rhino model, so you can check the
things a drawing does not tell you: whether someone fits, whether they can reach it, whether
they can get past it.
Pose it with your webcam
NDudeTrackBody turns the webcam into the input. Stand in front of it, hold still for a
short calibration, and the figure copies you like a mirror — shoulders, elbows, hips and
knees, all four limbs at once. Nod to apply the pose, shake your head to discard it, or use
Space and Esc. NDudeTrackArm does the same for a single arm.
Pose detection runs on your machine; the model ships inside the plugin.
Posing by hand
NDudeCreate places a figure. Click a joint and a red ring appears — drag it, or type the
angle in degrees, with Shift snapping to 5°. SwitchAxis changes the rotation axis without
leaving the command.
NDudePuppet is the quickest way to rough out a pose: grab a hand or a foot and drag it, and
the whole arm or leg follows — shoulder and elbow, or hip and knee, solve together. Click to
place it, Esc to cancel.
For the poses you need constantly there are presets rather than joint-by-joint work: sit and
stand up, T-pose, reach, bend forward by a set angle, and raise either arm or leg.
NDudeWalk and NDudeStep move the figure with a step length you set in millimetres.
Each figure lives in its own Rhino group, so you can put several people in one document and
pose them independently.

We would like to hear which poses you would want as presets. The current set came out of
yacht interiors and engine rooms — crouching, kneeling and climbing a ladder are the three
we keep being asked about.
