Absolutely, but their Data Connecter is targeting much more than Rhino. They intend to extend this to other platforms as well in an effort to placate the data driven interoperability workflows their customers are demanding.
If you have access to BIM 360/ACC/DOCS give their beta a try.
Thanks Japhy, l will have try on this once l got a chance, cheers.
It will make Rhino inside useless, it will be discontinued??
Rhino.Inside is much more than Revit (Tekla, …)
There are a lot of options now for Rhino to Revit workflows, each with pros and cons.
Conveyer: Great workflows that generate native Revit Elements without GH, it is pay to play but is well supported and still being developed.
MKS Beam: Similar to conveyer, personally would recommend Conveyer but still worth a try.
Speckle: A step beyond for sure.
Data Exchange Connector: Currently Beta and is direct shapes only. Not exactly sure what the end result product wise will be. Your data is housed in the Autodesk Construction Cloud (subscription)
Rhino.Inside.Revit: Grasshopper knowledge required and users need to understand what they are doing in Rhino-Gh-Revit when creating custom workflows. It is and will continue to be developed as a plugin (yes, soon in Rhino 8 wip) with no plans to monetize it.
That’s far from the truth. Have you read the details on how this works?
First of all you need to add more to your Autodesk subscription, and get Autodesk Construction Cloud. Second, you have no control over which parameters get passed to the 3d objects in Rhino. Do you really need/want all the parameters on a Revit object?
Third, it does not work with ANY 2D objects, so you can’t access lines, filled regions, etc.
Rhino.Inside Revit is miles ahead of this plugin.
