Need to get the gem data and weight without opening the 3dm file

I need utility program, script, API, or SDK, anything to get the gem data + weight data without opening the 3dm file. Anything available?

Hi @springware,

If you could read a 3dm file from a script, API, or SDK, how would you identify a gem? How would you also identify the material (so as to calculate the weight)?

I don’t know much about the software itself. But right now, when I open the 3DM file, there is a gem report and there is weight report. I figured out if there is a command to extract those info within the software, there might be some script, SDK etc to extract the same info outside the software.

Thanks for your response, just realized that I got an email from you. I just posted on the forum. Basically, I am looking to see if there is any script that can take the 3dm file and generate a gem report. I can do that now within the Matrix/rhino software. Please direct me to any script or any programmer who can develop such utilility or program.
