Kind of a simple one. Is there a way to make the little point that’s used for snapping bigger? I find that it tends to get lost in the line visually. I do have the crosshairs and tooltips turned on so that helps identify where it is.
not if you are not clear what you actually want. like that i have to explain both possible needs
if you are talking about the radius that causes the snap to happen, go to advanced and find Rhino.Options.ModelAid.ObjectSnapPickBoxRadius, and set the number to a higher value.
if you are talking about the point itself go to the Display Modes and change under Objects the parameters. be aware that for each Display Mode you would have to adjust it.
omg @Helvetosaur does that not get in the way when you have set it so high? or are you zooming in for each movement to the µm? mine is set to 5… but ok maybe its different on windows.
The value is in pixels. I’m on a 4K screen, for me at least it works fine and it’s faster. I don’t have all that many occasions where I need to zoom in closer because the snaps are too close together.
But I think after reading his post again, it’s the second issue he’s looking for. I don’t know any way to make the snap point indication bigger - the point size for point objects does not appear to apply there.
Thanks all for your replies, and apologies that my request wasn’t clear. I’ve uploaded a second image with the point I was talking about circled in red.
On certain screens it would be useful to be able to enlarge the size of this dot, and even the tooltips text size, to make them easier to see, as an accessibility feature…
still wondering the same in 2024 - I think it would be great to be able to change the size of the snap-points - atleast for me it would improve visual clarity
makes sense that this could be tuned. I’ve added:
