Lenovo W541 - Nvidia K1100m or K2100m?

I will be transferring to an Architecture program this fall and I wanted to get some input/recommendations on a Lenovo W541 system.

Processor: i7-4810MQ Processor (6MB Cache,up to 3.8GHz)
Display:Thinkpad W541 15.6" FHD (1920 x 1080), with WWAN
I can upgrade to an IPS panel for $140.00 but I’m not sure if I need it or if it will make any difference as I will probably have external TN monitors at school… so I would only use the lPS when not in the design studio.

Video Card: difference between K1100m and K2100m is $175.00, which one should I get?
Hard Drive: going with 500g HDD and later upgrade to SSD
Memory: 4gb, upgrade after to 16 or 32

I’m pretty ok with the K1100 - only hanged when working with a huge amount of geometry like editing my patterning approach here (made only little difference when working with blocks)

I have the nivida Quadro K2100m in my HP ZBook 15 and it was worth the cost of the upgrade, in my opinion. Very good performance, even when connected to an Apple Cinema Display. I would’ve gone up to an even better card, if there was an option for it, but I’m happy with the 2100m.
