I’m looking for help creating a Grasshopper 3D definition for a pendant lamp similar to the one in the reference image.
What I want to model:
-
An organic teardrop / seed-like overall shape
-
Repeating vertical flowing ribs / contours wrapping around the surface
-
Soft, wavy openings between the ribs
-
A clean parametric system so I can control height, width, rib count, wave amplitude, and opening size
-
Preferably suitable for fabrication / 3D printing
I would like to know:
-
What is the best Grasshopper workflow to create this form?
-
Should I start from a revolved base surface and then generate contour ribs on top of it?
-
How can I create those smooth organic wave patterns consistently around the lamp body?
-
What components or plugins would be most useful for this? (LunchBox, Pufferfish, Kangaroo, Weaverbird, etc.)
-
Can anyone share a sample Grasshopper definition or explain the logic step by step?
My goal is to build a parametric lamp shell similar to this style, not just a static model.
Thanks in advance for any guidance.
