For the past year I have been on/off learning how to replicate the kintsugi effect on object. I have been able to use grasshopper to create this effect. I believe I am only 10% to the finish line of the design process. I have used a combination of blender and grasshopper to achieve this progress. First I use the cell-fracture add-on on blender to fracture my object, I used the fracture edges to create curves around the edges. I then export this into rhino where I use a grasshopper script I have been working on for a while. Currently I am using simple models such as a bowl. The goal is to master the bowl and progress to more complex objects. As you can see in the pictures I have attached, the golden part is supposed be uniform with the bowl but I have only gotten as far laying it on top of the bowl.
Is there a reason you want to model this instead of replicating the effect using texture work?
I am new to this. What do you mean by texture work?
Start by posting the actual geometries, the gh script and some refence images of what you want to achieve.
Some good mentor will help you.
