Keyboard Macro Ctrl+F2 '_SetMaximizedViewport Front stopped working

Hi,
My Ctrl+F2 Macro for “'_SetMaximizedViewport Front” stooped working,
Issue persist for both my V7 & V6 installed.
Ctrl+F1, Ctrl+F3, Ctrl+F4 for Top, Right & Perspective work just fine…
The Front tab exist and working manually, but clicking is not really our thing here…
So please all you magicians, raise a hand & send a spell :mage: :man_mage: :woman_mage:
Gilad.

Seems to be working here.

In Options>Keyboard, is the macro still there?

If it is, did you by any chance install some other program that might have taken over the keyboard shortcut?

Hi @Helvetosaur, option still there, deleting saving and getting it back didn’t help,
Restore to default, didn’t either…
When copying the macro to ctrl+shft+f2 works fine…
I think that only a restore command, if there is one, or a Rhino fix trough reinstall, might fix that.
And no, didn’t installed nothing new.

This happens with all files? Any command line message when it fails to work?

This is odd… Still makes me think that something outside Rhino has maybe taken over Ctrl+F2 which is why it is inoperative.

No

No

Nothing is on top of Rhino while running, no back service and no response of any short from other apps…did some research, the most windows and office uses of that combo is for print preview, can’t see any evidence of that happening…

@Helvetosaur Reinstalled R7 on top of the existing one, still issue persist

OK, more or less out of ideas here… Any plug-ins installed? Can you run SystemInfo in Rhino and copy/paste the results here?

You also restarted the computer I guess?

Yes

Well, I do see that you have three monitors connected to a video card with only 2GB VRAM, which is under recommended spec for even only one monitor. And also your video driver is almost 3 years old, but as it’s also an old card, not sure if you have a newer one available.

Otherwise I can see absolutely nothing in the system info that looks bad, and I really don’t think the video card/driver/monitor setup could affect your how Ctrl+F2 works, especially as an alternative keyboard shortcut does work.

One other thing - if at the command line you type '_SetMaximizedViewport and then hit Enter, then you type Front and hit Enter, does it work? (I suspect yes)

If you assign some other command temporarily to Ctrl+F2 - like ! _Move does that work at all?

U R Correct

Yes

Nope…

Further investigating brought to my attention that the issue persist with other programs installed, like Logitech options, for my Mx Master mouse, there I tried to assign the ctrl+f2 keystroke to a mouse gesture, did not succeed, the key combination did not appear when trying to record it…
Tried again with my opera browser, assigning the key combo as a shortcut, again, the combo did not appear when hitting it…
So its not a Rhino issue but something with with windows…
Tnx for trying, I will keep wasting my time trying to solve that

With nothing open/active (like just after starting the computer) and you are on the desktop, does hitting Ctrl+F2 do anything? In Windows you can set up shortcuts like that to open programs or documents, some wacky program might have done that for you at some point.

I guess also check for virii/malware at this point…

No

Didn’t install any wacky progs, at least not lately…
I went trough all accabilty option searching for any clue, none found…
Tried some online keyboard check and they DO record the Ctrl F2 combo…
I really dont have a clue :man_facepalming:
