Hello everyone,
I’ve released the first version of JTPluginPack, a jewelry-focused plugin for Rhino 8 for Windows.
I have spent a long time developing this plugin, and I’m happy to finally make the initial version available through the Rhino Package Manager.
JTPluginPack is not mainly intended to automate only one specific jewelry modeling step, such as creating section curves or stone seats.
The main purpose of the plugin is to support jewelry design by allowing you to place and adjust gems, cutters, and prongs on your own models in a more interactive workflow.
Many of the commands GUI and real-time previews, so the plugin can be operated quickly and intuitively without relying only on command-line input.
One of the key features is JTShapeKeepRebuild.
It is a shape-preserving curve rebuild command that uses more advanced calculations to rebuild curves while trying to prevent the original shape from collapsing.
In some ways, it may be similar in spirit to the upcoming Elmo functionality.
The plugin also includes tools for creating gem models, placing gems on surfaces or SubD objects, creating cutter geometry and prongs, estimating metal weight, preparing screenshots, and generating gem reports.
At the moment, ring size support is limited to Japanese and US ring sizes. If users can provide reliable information about ring size standards used in other countries, I may be able to add support for them in future updates.
Unfortunately, I do not currently own a Mac device, so the plugin is currently available only for Rhino 8 on Windows.
It is available through the Rhino Package Manager.
Installation:
- Start Rhino 8 for Windows
- Open Package Manager
- Search for
JTPluginPack - Install the package
JTPluginPack is a commercial plugin and requires a valid license after installation.
I have also prepared tutorial videos in both English and Japanese to show the basic usage of each command.

This is the first public release, so I would appreciate any feedback, bug reports, or suggestions from Rhino users, especially those working in jewelry design.
