I don’t know if anyone else notices this, but if I copy and paste a screenshot image into a post, at the moment it gets posted it looks very sharp, then after about 10 seconds, I get this sort of raster sweep down the image like it’s being reloaded and then it’s much fuzzier… Even when you click on the image to see it at the original size it’s still not as sharp as the original… Wazzup with that?

Can you past a few problem images here? We do perform some optimisation on images to avoid high bandwidth use which may cause issue in outlier cases.
testing… I don’t know if you can see the difference, sometimes it’s much worse than this video shows…
Also it seems to be worse on my home workstation, which is almost identical to the one at work… Don’t know how that could be. Will repeat the test there tonight.
Can you provide a link to the “raw” image too please? Hosted somewhere else.

TL;DR in that specific case it was something on the network interfering with the images between that user and us.
OK, will do - note that most of the time I am simply copying to the clipboard and pasting into Discourse - so no file has been created…
OK, true that the machine at home is going through a different isp than the work one, but I have never had any similar trouble with either one.
