How to utilize different element categories importing geometry

Hi,

I am bringing geometry from my model into Rhino, transforming it with a rotation and a shear to create an axonometric view, then bringing it back into Revit to export the DWG for final production in Illustrator:

It’s working well but I need to figure out how to get control over individual categories when in Illustrator. I am currently using DirectShapes for all my geometry so everything is imported as a Generic Model. How can I revise the workflow so that I can perhaps bring walls in as “walls”, roofs in as “roofs”, etc so that they export with the DWG standards?

I am currently playing around with these:

Thanks for any thoughts.

There is a DirectShape Categories component, using this or the Query Category component you can assign a Category via the Category Input on your Create Direct Shape Type component.

Great. Thank you!

Do meshes not display model patterns?
