How to do that?

hi,

I want to create this shape… a cylinder with wings… but with two handles… a slight deformation in the middle of the slide…

An idea ?

Tks per advance.

A.

Maybe a SubD torus… extracts closed loops… create surface and offset???

have you tried reaching out to that designer?

Looks like they are doing some pufferfish and grasshopper wizardry there.

Tks for your answer….

I managed it, but… I don’t know how to create the handles. The slide’s deformation is localized on a small area, and not around the tube…

Tks Laurent….

a great link….the base is a square, not a tube…interesting !

a new challenge

What do you mean by “handles”? Do you mean the contour slats ?
And send a version of your gh file that you worked on so far :))

Hi Ali,

yes, “handles” are contour slats on the top….2 big deformations each side.

My gh file is not representative…it’s not an ellipse, it’s a rectangle.

tks

I tried to recreate it with Grasshopper, but the result isn’t satisfactory—it’s not aesthetically pleasing enough.

My code is more complex… it’s good to learn, but my method isn’t the right one…:frowning:

Perhaps a better way ?

Hi;

A little evolution….It’s better, but it’s complicated to empty the inside of the wings…

Ruled surface failed….

if everyone has an idea….
