Kangaroo mechanical rigging Daniel Piker videos

Hi! I’m following Daniel’s pikker video’s about assemblies in Kangaroo in Vimeo. I have a doubt, in the video’s, the assemblies are like floating Ik’s , without any part anchored to a static, fixed in position piece. How to setup this?? Thanks a lot in advance
