Help with objects patterned inside a dome

Folks, I can’t seem to figure out how to place place block objects in a specific pattern inside a dome. I am trying to use Paneling Tools but I’m sure I’m using it incorrectly. I don’t even know if it is the correct tool.

The objects need to be scattered in the exact configuration as they are laid out on the surface under them, and at that exact height. I also included an image of an actual system with these installed.

Any suggests from the pro’s out there?

Also, the dome was created using Sweep1 and a curve so that it was 1.25" thick, but it sure seems like a more complicated solid now. Any suggestions for simplifying the creation of a dome in that diameter with an arc radius of 126 inches? Thanks everyone!

Ok I used FlowAlongSrf but the objects don’t match the layout. Can someone point me in the right direction?

How about projecting the centres of the black dots to the dome, and then using the Splop feature/command to copy/snap your object to it?

There are many ways to set a pattern on a dome. I would Google “dome pattern grasshopper” , as the strategy is based on the design outcome.

Paneling tools is probably a good plugin to have for this. The truck is to decide how to split up the dome.

I’ll try with GH.
I have defined the points to speed up processing, but they are easily modifiable.

Okay I’ll look that up. Thank you Lagom!

I googled that and I have Paneling Tools but the can’t figure out how to use Polar Array. Documentation isn’t very helpful and most videos are all dealing with rectangular. But I will dig more. Thank you Scott!

Leopoldomonzani, that worked pretty good but the objects are floating about the surface. I have never used Grasshopper before so I had to look up how to make the objects “real”. Once baked, I moved them down to the surface where they are needed. I really need to learn Grasshopper! Thank you!
