Hatches make rhino crash

@fsalla - is this something you can look into?

Hi @Clayton_Muhleman, @dale I cannot reproduce the crash in my PC, with the same file.
I’m currently using VisualARQ 3 Beta 7 and Rhino 8 SR7. And I just have VisualARQ and Lands Design as third-party plug-ins enabled.
@Clayton_Muhleman are you using these versions as well?

When I open the file, I get these warning messages from the “OpeningTools”:

I ignore if that plug-in has anything to do with this, but try to disable it to test if the problem persists.

I cannot find in your file the drawing of your first video in this thread. If you can record a new video with the crash happening on the file you sent me, it will help!

Even with rhino 8.8 the problem still persists, whenever i try to select a hatch and zoom in it just crashes 100/100 times, with importing .pat files from autocad, the hatch command after selecting curves just crashes. Please fix this guys. Rhino 8 is really powerful but this problems have forced me to go back to rh7 for 2d draftings

Hi Sadikur Limon,

Please run SystemInfo in your Rhino command line and post the results. Thanks

If you can send us a file with a hatch in it that we can repeat the crash with, we should be able to fix this issue pretty quick

hatch crashes.3dm (364.5 KB)
I imported autocad .pat file and then when i want to use hatch command, it crashes. If it doesnt crashes then when i select the hatch and zoom in to or change the scale from properties panel, it crashes. Please look into it. Thanks

Any particular reason to be running in 4.8?

to run some plugins that i have disabled recently

I’m not able to crash Rhino here with that file.

What happens when you set this back to the default .NET Core?

Also, I’m not seeing any crash reports from you. Does the crash reporter pop up when Rhino crashes on your system?
-wim

hi,
i went back to the.net core, and magically, rhino doesn’t crash anymore
Yes, it pops up, but I did not send it sorry.
For now, my rhino is not crashing. Thanks a lot. You guys saved me!

Same problem. R8 crashes consistently when trying to apply a new hatch:

Any particular reason you are using 4.8?

This is an interesting configuration. With no plugins to remove this seems like a good place to troubleshooting by removing monitors and switching the display port.

I wasn’t aware until you pointed it out. What should I use?

I tried the hatch with no monitors (the dock was unplugged.)
Same result.

unless you have reasons to run .NET 4.8, use the default:

Command: SetDotNetRuntime
Currently running .NET in NETCore
Select .NET Runtime ( Runtime=Default )
