Grasshopper Loading Error

Hi All,

recently I’ve been getting this loading error when opening Grasshopper. Where do I start finding out what is causing it?

One way to troubleshoot if its a particular plugin is start a fresh instance of Rhino and launch GH via the command line with GrasshopperLoadOneByOne.

If its not plugin related you can try a Repair install of Rhino.

Would that mean I would have to progressively repeat LoadOneByOne just loading one, then two, then three etc. … I want to say plug-ins, but… things?

Ideally you would say yes to each one with a pause to see if the error pops up when loading that plugin.

Oh, so the error message will pop-up in between. Thanks, will try.

I have the same situation with Rhino 8 and gh, though it does not happen in Rhino 7. this did not occur yesterday. I will also perform the suggestion from Japhy.
Thanks. -Ren

SystemInfo would be helpful to get us all on the same page (if it is something on our end).

This could be a conflict with a 3rd Party plugin. Saying No to all 3rd Party plugins and then see if the error is still present.

A repair install (Add Remove Programs>Modify>Repair) could be in order.

To disable Rhino plugins you can go to Plugins and filter by plugins that do not ship with Rhino, or open in safe mode.

FYI, I have repaired and uninstalled, rebooted, and reinstalled, same. I will try saying no to all the other plugins not shipped with Rhino. I am going to bet it is related to Enscape, just saw 4.4 was installed this morning. Although, another staff member has Enscape 4.4 and does not have the issue, yet I know I have more recent ladybug and pollination because the older version didn’t work with Rhino 8. we’ll see. Disabling the not shipped plugins.

Nope, with all 3rd party (plugins not shipped with Rhino) plugins disabled, it still reports the error. It does still load the various packages I have for gh.

I removed Enscape entirely, so maybe that wasn’t the cause?

ok, when I don’t load the various packages it does not come up, so it is related to some package, yet I don’t understand why it would start today and it didn’t happen yesterday, I didn’t load any new packages, that I recall.

Potentially related to Pollination Rhino Plugin or how it interacts with something else. Confirmed, once uninstalled Pollination Rhino Plugin, no longer see the error dialog noted by OP.

Oh, no that uninstalled ALL of Ladybug Tools, that doesn’t help, we need Ladybug Tools. wanted to just remove the Pollination Rhino Plugin. will see if i can specify in the install process.

Ok, reinstalled Ladybug Tools and unchecked Pollination plugin for R7 and R8, everything loads fine.

FYI, Pollination 1.54.16

Thanks, again, I guess it was the elusive “third party plugin.”
