uu was not aware going to test it

please do you know in what format i can define range when reading excel?

The package comes with some example files. One of them it is how to read an Excel file.

Read_Define_Cell_Range

Try this. I am not familiar with reading Excel file as I do only need to write them! I took this from the Read.gh that comes with the package.

Iā€™m not in the need of reading Excel files and found a workaround with streaming data into a *.csv file which can be linked in Excel. This does not require any script or plugin.

I tried it. I have got a problem because my script relied on how GhExcel - Interface with Excel | Food4Rhino treated data.

This pancake seems nice but i dont see an option for type like in the ghexcel and it imports empty cells as type of data instead of . of course i can play around and replace empties with null and i will probably have to do it.

thats why i am calling for standardized native excel which could have an envelope functionality from several plugins and people could avoid that problems.

Without sharing your GH definition and Xcel file it is difficult to understand what you are after.

in essence a good (or rather perfect) excel import node should include options what data should be obtained from excel (either cell formula or resulting value) then how empty cells should be handled (either null or empty).

i had working solution for more complex gh script but after update to win11 excel node stopped working and i tried that alternative with pancake which is good but misses this option how to treat data from cells and it handles empty cells as empties but my gh script was tailored to nulls instead.

bottom line is i did what i had to do on my other pc with win10 because i dont have time to remake my whole definition to adapt to different excel import node.
