Grasshopper 2 --- stuck at launch ---

Hello fellow rhino users,

After a certain update in the previous months Grasshopper 2 stopped launching for some reason. The main banner seems like everything is working well but then the canvas doesn’t open. After the last WIP update now it is stuck at %7.

What do you think might be the solution?

Hi Erdem -
Please run the Rhino SystemInfo command and copy-paste the result here.
-wim

Here it is Wim! Thanks in advance.

@wim reminded me that there is a bug when the screen scaling is set to 150%. Can you modify your monitor to either 100% or 200% and then restart Rhino and try again?

I tried it, still stuck at 7%.

I run the command “-G2” to see if there are any settings and I changed the “Load Plugins” setting from “StandardPlugins” to “AllPlugins”.

1213

Now it is not stuck at 7%. It goes all the way but still the G2 canvas doesn’t come up.

Please run the G2PluginViewer command on a fresh Rhino and manually load all the plugins by clicking on the Scoped buttons. Does the G2 command now show the editor?

Hello David,

Unfortunately, nothing changed. I will install the R8 Beta and try it now…

I uninstalled the existing Rhino WIP then installed the new Rhino 8.

I am using the “OptionsExport” and “OptionsImport” commands to migrate my settings. Maybe there is something wrong with my settings. Is there a way to go back to the default settings?

Hi Erdem -

There’s the Reset command that lets you do that.
-wim

No luck… Maybe it is a windows issue…

A side question, does Rhino work better on a Mac?

I’d say Rhino works better on Windows. meanwhile many fundamental things have changed in Rhino 8, which may bring issues.
