mmm no, not the same. AutoCP is great and a close alternative but not the same. In Modo and sketchup it auto switches between xy, xz and yz while rotating the view. This allows to draw in 3d much faster without the need to split the view in four. An alternative is the pie menu to switch between view…

yes its similar to edge softening in rhino . Only difference is Modo does it at the material level and has the option to create fillets between two intersecting objects that are not joined or booleaned.
