Fillet issue

Dear Forum, could you help me to understand because of I’m not able to get this fillet?

I tried with a less deep boolean to model the handle with cylinder, in that way I’m able to run the fillet on the small part but fails on the biggest one.

I read a lot about Rhino and Fillet issues, if such the case could you, please, show me a workaround to better understand how to solve this problems now and in the future?
Thank you, Bartle

Hi @Bartleboom
The seam of the cylinder you booleaned has its seam right below the intersection, creating a very small sliver at the cut-out:

Rhino is unfortunately not able to completely eliminate surfaces when using FilletEdge, so either untrim the surface and move the seam/rotate the cylinder, or use FilletSrf instead and then manually trim/split the resulting surfaces.

It is important to place the seam in the right orientation before you subtract… In this case, the seam should point away from the object in order to avoid filleting problems later on…

Thank you very very much. Perfectly solved.
And what’s most important thanks for teaching.
