I’m looking for some best practices for CADing a cover for a boat helm. The helm has a few high points and I’m thinking I might be “overthinking” the best way to design the cover.
What I was doing was just drawing lines and making surfaces but in the end I’ll have MANY MANY pieces to puzzle together… in a real manual world, I just drop a pattern on the helm and make a few marks where I need darts (tighten).
I want to use CAD for everything but sometimes I feel its overly complicated for the project (=
Would this 8-bit Atari video game graphic surface design be the best way more or less?
And the complicated side flattened out… which I trace the outline for a solid piece and sewing the darts.
