Extractsurface Pre-select copy option

When I pre-(sub)select a face from a subD or a surface from a Polysurface to extract the face/surface, I do not get the option to copy or not.
So if I get a copy or not depends on the option chosen the last time the command was executed.
Can I get this option before hitting Enter?

Hello - for now, with a pre-selection, use Copy > InPlace.

But mostly I want to extract without a copy. As a work around for split by edge, that is not available for SubD splitting.
