Hi getting back into Rhino after a long break, and just trying to load some heritage software onto my new CAD box running Windows 7 32 bit.
I have the original install discs for Rhino 1.0 and 3.0 and Flamingo 1.0 (and 1.1 update on Rhino 3 disc).
They all seemed to load OK but after downloading the latest update for Rhino (rh30sr_en_20060519) the splash screen hangs then an error:
Failed to update the system registry
Please try using REGEDIT
Not sure how to resolve this… did a Forum search, which came up blank, so any assistance gratefully received!
Hi Graeme - I think you have to live with it - that message turns up from V3 on the more recent versions of Windows. The program will run though.You might try right-click on the icon and choose ‘Run as Administrator’ - not sure if that will be any different or not, I’ll try it on Monday. If I remember. Also, you might check ‘compatibility mode’ for V3, and set that for Windows XP. Another thing I’ll try Monday - the rare times I fire up V3, I just ignore that message and it all seems to work.
