Drawing a circle from centre to a tangent

This is a really basic question I’m sure but try as I might, I can’t find a solution: how do you draw a circle (or an arc) from its centre point out, making it tangent to another line? I’ve tried every option in both the circle and arc tools without success. I thought the circle: center, radius tool with a tangent snap would do the trick but alas no, the snap doesn’t seem to work (tangent snap doesn’t seem to work well in my experience).

There must be a way to do it! Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi MisterB- use the Perp osnap for that.

Thanks, Pascal. I knew there had to be a simple answer.

Believe it or not, I’ve wondered how to do this for years. Every time I’ve needed to draw a circle from centre to be tangential to a line I had to construct elaborate ways to do it but I never thought to try the perp onsnap! It makes perfect sense now, thanks for your help.
