Is there any primitive that can be used to select/contain a directory path? I am looking to specify a destination directory for a bunch of algorithmically-generated renders. The “File Path” primitive does not allow a directory to be stored, as far as I can tell. If I use a text primitive, is there a way to bring up a directory selection dialog?
When you use the File Path
primitive and pick either Set One File Path
or Set Multiple File Paths
, a file selection dialog is brought up that allows you to select one or more files. When you then pick Manage Text collection
, you can edit the path to remove the file name.
Alternatively, you can go straight to Manage Text collection
, add an item, and edit that empty item to paste or write the path…
Thanks, wim. I was looking to make it easy to select (and possibly create) a directory via a dialog without having to do text editing by hand. I think I found what I was looking for in the rhinoscript function BrowseForFolder
, though.
Thanks, David!
hi,
i am trying to use the sun path components in ladybug, and so when I add in to grasshopper ‘file path’ in order to add the epw file of my location, and so I right click ‘file path’ and there is no option to set one file/multiple file paths. All it says is select one existing file and other stuff that doesnt make sense. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong? Please help
thanks victoria
