Designing/ Modelling Bouldering Wall

I’m trying to design some climbing/ bouldering walls and wondering if grasshopper can be a good tool to do it. I have used quite some grasshopper for school works before but my level is still in the beginner phase i would say. I have given some thought of the workflow as well as tried to follow some tutorial videos, but havent been able to find something closer to what I am aiming for (see reference below). I would appreciate any help to lead me to the right path. thank you!

Kangaroo is useful to manipulate meshes and make polygons planar.

The new pushpull command can also be scripted and has some specific use cases to manipulate single planes of a boulder / climbing wall.

Here’s a recent project of mine:

O’Bloc Extension - Martin Siegrist Industrial Design

Using Grasshopper with Kangaroo and the new Rhino components makes form finding and adjustments easier. The mesh based process with Kangaroo allows me to do live design sessions with clients and modify entire walls very quickly, something which is not possible with conventional modeling.

Thank you for your reply! very relevant experience!

i wonder if you have seen some tutorial videos that has given inspiration or led you to the formfinding process, is it possible to share them with me if any? Thanks a lot!

Difficult to explain how I got to my process but I’ve been using Grasshopper and Kangaroo for over a decade for all kinds of things. I’ll present some of my process at the Rhino user meeting in Basel at the end of the month.
