Denoising in Cycles


Hi Nathan,

recently I saw a tutorial ‘18 Ways to Speed Up Blender Cycles Rendering’.
Andrew talks about a denoiser, that increases the render result dramatically.
This here (see 15:27):

I tried in the special Blender version, and it seems to work very well…

Do you think this could make it’s way into Rhino Cycles as well?



The core Cycles that runs inside Rhino has the denoising code, but it isn’t enabled, mostly because it needs effort on my side to integrate it. It is possible I get to work on it at some point, but know that it is best with the production rendering, with non-progressive, tiled rendering. Some day… :slight_smile:

Nathan, that sounds good.
And yes, I consider this as an extra as well.
