Cutting curves out of a solid object

Hello there, I’m currently trying to make a ring model. My aim is to carve out the curves shown in the picture to the ring. I tried using pipe command on the curves and then boolean difference with the main body, but that doesn’t work for some reason. Is there any other way i can hollow out the lines from the ring? The profile of the carving doesn’t matter, it can be any shape.
