Custom preview -set one material

The only way to get “Set one material” to show anything in the custom preview component is to have materials loaded in the rhino file first…is that normal behaviour ? Or is there a component that will access all materials from the library ?

I have answered this for myself and here is the solution for anyone that would find it useful…
create a folder of materials that you like to use
reference them with Import model material
list index to send to custom preview…a slider enables you to quickly choose the material you like…
