Create Yak package from GHuserobjects that updates existing components

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to create my first YAK package. Over the years, I’ve made several .ghuser objects that I’d like to share with my team. To build the package, I gathered all my files along with a manifest file and an icon, and then ran the yak.exe build command.

The issue I’m facing is this:

  • Suppose I release version 1.0 and start using those components in a Grasshopper definition.

  • Later, if I update the package to version 2.0 and install it, when I reopen the old definition that uses version 1.0, the components don’t automatically update to the new version. Instead, I need to manually replace them.

My question is:

Is there a way to make sure that when the package is updated, Grasshopper automatically updates existing components in old definitions to the new version, without manual replacement?
