Convert a mesh thread into a nurbs thread

Hi Everyone,

I’m trying to implement a thread on a model. it’s a thread for camera ( 1/4-20 UNC) and I can only find it in stl file on internet. but I would like to convert it into a nurbs to put it on my object.

The conversion to nurbs, or to subD then Nurbs from the mesh doesn’t work really well for this so I was wondering other option I would have to combine those two shapes?

The industrial supplier McMaster-Carr is another good source for models in a variety of formats including STEP and IGES which support surfaces.
