Greetings, I am a pretty new user of Rhino/Grasshopper and I’m currently doing an analysis of direct sun hours on facades. This is for a master thesis on landscape architecture.
I have to admit that I have been completely lost for months because my knowledge in this environment is very very limited (but it seems that it’s the tool to get where i need), so i kindly ask you, if you can, this big big help.
The main objective is to know which building facades have enough hours of sunlight to apply green walls. That requires:
- organizing the data to have the climate analysis points grouped by façade;
- understand the percentage of points per facade - with the value defined for suitability (for example 3 hours of sunlight per day or more) - that exists.
So the climate analysis is done but i´m having a lots of problems on organizing the data, that resulted of ladybug analysis, convenently…
So at this point I need to attribute the points to the facades. As you can see I filtered the points with more than 3 hours of sunlight per day and associated them again with the points with geographic coordinates, to then associate these points with the closest facade >> Mesh Closest Point; At this moment I can’t understand if I grouped the points to the facade or if it is grouped to the entire building unit…
Anyways i continued and used the >> Construct Points >> Cull Duplicates >> Desconstruct to have no duplicated points, as I saw somewhere here in the forum…
Big thanks in advance to everyone o kindly respond and try to help!
