Hi there,
It seems like it’s not possible to change the face’s color of a polysurface anymore.
When intending to do so, the value list stays in the default “By Layer” value.

Any advice ?

Apparently it doesn’t work when objects are of extrusion type.
When working on polysurfaces, I can select a face and change its color individually.
Is it a bug/regression ? I’m pretty sure it used to work with extrusions…
Hi Baptiste - V8 converts extrusions into polysurfaces when a per-face color is assigned.

Hi @pascal,
Thank you for your answer.
Do you mean that it’s the normal behaviour that in Rhino7 extrusion’s faces could’nt be coloured individually ?
I’d never noticed it before, I thought it was kind of a bug…
Anyway, I already convert them to polysurfaces to fix that situation, but it’s a bit annoying and, one more time, I feel like it never had been necessary to do so in the past.
That behavior has always been true for lightweight extrusions.
If you never need them, then why not run the UseExtrusions command in V7 and switch to Polysurfaces. Then assigning a per face color will work as you expect.
Ok, thank you John.
I guess I might have been working on polysurfaces every time in the past and I noticed that only today.
Thank you for that UseExtrusions command, I didn’t know it. It will totally cover my need.
