Button editor works only on some buttons?

So I have and additional tab for 2D drafting where my button commands are edited to set default layers before running the command. In Rhino 7 I edited the buttons with red highlights to differentiate from the standard buttons. I’m trying to do the same with RH8, but the button editor will only edit certain buttons. e.g.
I was able to edit the linear dimensions button. (added Red)

But cannot edit the angled dimension button and most others even as I do the same process as I did before. (Cannot insert red)

I am really hating interacting with this part of Rhino as I cannot understand why many things I use to do, now do not work. Is the a way to export existing button icons, edit in something like Inkscape or Corel, and re-import?

It looks like this bug is caused by the icon size.

Yes you can export it to SVG from that editor. I don’t know how it is working with Inkscape or Corel, but I can copy from Illustrator and paste directly into the button editor.
