the current Rhino 7 Version 7 (7.35.23280.19002, 2023-10-07) version suppresses mac os x nightshift (warm-white color settings for the laptop monitor)
mac os x ventura 13.5.1 (22G90)
my monitor should get warm white at 22h. - but if Rhino 7 is running, the system fails in shifting the temperature, as soon rhino is shut down, the monitor flips to warm white.
could not reproduce with Rhino 8 - but I did no intense testing
This is not something that would be changed in Rhino 7 at this point.

my todays “workflow” in rhino 8
draw some simple geometry into a blank rhino document at 16h.
do not save
do something else until 23h (nightshift is set to 22h)
Rhino V8 prevented nightshift to dim the colors…
quit Rhino
monitor falls into expected color-scheme.

This is on the list as RH-78700 Layer: Layers panel does not automatically switch between light/dark mode
… but inactive because the developers haven’t found a way to reliably reproduce this.

Dear @wim this issue is not about ligth / dark mode.
It is about a “tonal” shift from cold white to warm white.
and this is the effect at 22:59 (nightshift should start at 22:00) - but Rhino suppresses it.
As soon as I quite Rhino, the screen gets warm-white:
