When changing selection from one object to another, the BoxEdit panel values are disabled until you click again on the same object. Is that a bug or a feature?
It’s a bug. Which version of Rhino are you on? (I see this in 8.9.24163.15301, 2024-06-11, but not in 8.8)
Sorry @jeremy5, forgot the system info:

Thanks for the report, I see the same issue here as well.
RH-82612
I just noticed, the BoxEdit values are disabled after a gumball rotation or scale operation.
And If the panel is docked and partially obscured (picture) I can’t scroll it down when it’s disabled (not an issue imo).
Thanks, we were able to spot the issue and get this patched today. It has gone to internal testing and will roll out in an upcoming service release.
Hi @Trav, sorry to bother again with this issue.
The initial bug was solved, but it appeared in another way.
When dealing with multiple objects, the BoxEdit
is disabled, and will only turn on when changing tabs in the docked layout. I have several tabs on this panel, so I don’t know how to solve the issue if you don’t have another tab to go back and forth.
In the vídeo you can see that after the OffsetSrf
command, the values are disabled again, even that I kept the original objects selected.
(I have the habit of selecting the objects before most commands, so that Rhino keeps the parent objects selected after the operation is done)

ps: sorry if my mouse movements make me seem like I’m on crack. I am not.
hmm that sounds similar to the fixed issue for sure.
However I see that you’re on SR11 so I need to poke around and see if I can repeat what you’re seeing.
Im able to repeat by just making a box and sub object selecting a face and extruding with the gumball. I was also able to fix the issue while I was trying to understand the problem. RH-83359
I am still seeing the same problem in Version 8 SR9 (8.9.24194.18121, 2024-07-12).
@Hermes2024 yes, I was just testing the fix for this, which will be in 8.12
Thank you Gijs!
Some feedback: I upgraded to Version 8 SR10 (8.10.24226.13001, 2024-08-13) this morning and so far it is behaving well. I have not encountered the Box Edit disabled when selecting problem, but will keep an eye on it. Thank you for the fix.
