[image] Rhino 7 Feature: Display Performance Discussion Files with nested blocks (often from SolidWorks, STEP, and SketchUP import) I do nested blocks in Rhino despite the block management tools being so stubbornly lame. That’s where I would like to see real improvement now.

@bobmcneel yes please hire a better block manager

To be fair, though… if I could choose between a better block manager and, say, Solidworks/Alias class robust filleting (and dear god, un-filleting), I’d chose filleting any day. Because although the block manager is an inconvenience for me personally, it’s the filleting in Rhino that’s 100% a showst…

[image] eobet: Perhaps it’s the reverse in, say, an architecture firm? Exactly! In architecture design, every repeated element goes into a block by definition. It’s not just for reducing file size, it’s for maintaining your model synchronized and to reduce user errors as much as possible. Ima…

Seems to me that database-based software is more than necessary along with its reference-instance data model. I’ve been hinting that to McNeel for years.

[image] jespizua: IMO, McNeel should put everything related to block on top of that famous priority list before adding any new feature to V7. …well, just after gradient hatching , right ?

Haha! On point! McNeel please respect your users time more. Some things in Rhino which are possible are implemented in such way that it is a pain to work. If you, as a developers, are testing your stuff and some tasks are possible to accomplish but they are taking e.g. 25 minutes instead of 15 mi…

It’s the random sorting every time you open the editor that gets me… …but honestly, even just basic editing is screwed up and that’s not even low-hanging fruit… that’s just plain buggy. I’ll stop now before I start swearing too.

I agree with you that Fillet aren’t the best sometime, but when you’re working in product design with project made with more than 500 (different) pieces and you have to manage how to build it (the BOM) better block management would save huge amount of time, much more than fixing a couple of bad fill…
