Blend Surface Problem

Hi,
I tried to blend the two surfaces together. I successfully blended one side, however i can’t do the other side even if the surfaces were the same.
The surface has a open edge, even if i joined them.

I redid the surface by mirroring the other half and it worked.
Sorry I didn’t save the original file.
